10.162 With reference to Mr. Read's letter of 4th

January last and previous correspondence regarding

the transfer of ir. H. L. 0. Garrett from Colonial

to Indian service, I am directed by the Secretary of

State for India in Council to request that with

Hr. Secretary llarcourt's permission the following

information may be furnished. -

(1) the amount of service for pension which

Mr. Garrett had rendered at the date of his transfer

(including any addition of years that may have been

made to his service for special qualifications, etc.)

(2) the amount of the contribution to this

officer's final pension which the Colonial Office is

prepared to pay in respect of such service.
